Want to take a 2000 mile Hike ?

I am starting to make plans ( tentatively ) for a 2000 mile walk starting in mid march 2010. I want to walk from Ridgecrest California to Chicago, Illinois. I think it could take 6 months or so. Having a partner, maybe two, would really make the walk a great experience. It sounds like a good way to spend some time.
